At Reservoir Family Wellness, Maria specializes in helping kids. Pediatrics is a specialty of Chinese medicine that has proven over two millennia to be safe and effective in addressing both acute and chronic conditions of childhood.
In addition to the cumulative experience developed and recorded by Chinese pediatricians over thousands of years, patients at our clinic benefit from the growing body of biomedical research on the positive effects of both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine on common pediatric conditions.
Our specialty services include the use of techniques that are suitable for children. We offer non-insertive acupuncture–using special tools developed for treating children. Our herbal formulas are specially formulated for children, to make them safe, palatable and easy to administer. Our clinic is welcoming to children. We appreciate that parents need to be informed about how Chinese medicine can help and we do our best to provide helpful information geared to your questions and concerns.
Your child’s first visit will include a review of medical history, a brief physical assessment, and may include a brief treatment.
Your input will be important. If you have questions about what forms of health history will be relevant for your child’s appointment, give us a call or reach Maria on Wednesday morning office hours at (978) 877-6630.
Children should dress comfortably, eat before the treatment, and ideally have some down time directly after the session.
Our clinic asks that parents stay on site during a child’s treatment. Children will require a parent/guardian’s attendance in the treatment room.
If your child’s plan includes acupuncture, we will work together to determine the style of acupuncture your child will receive. There are styles that are “non-insertive” meaning that needles do not pierce the skin or other tools are used to stimulate the points.
